City of Moscow

A tourist brochure for the city of Moscow

This is a travel brochure for Russia’s capital city of Moscow. The design of each spread is based off of a piece by a classic Russian Constructivist artist, such as El Lissitzky, Kazimir Malevich, and Alexander Rodchenko. This design scheme references much of Russia’s past, particularly the Communist and Bolshevik era. Though Russia is no longer the USSR, many people still think of it as a communist nation and this brochure is a tongue-in-cheek way to bring tourists to the gem of “Mother Russia” while still providing an informative experience for the visitor.

A number of attractions and historic sites are featured in the brochure from famous places like Red Square, the Kremlin, and St. Basil’s Cathedral as well as lesser known attractions like Shabolovka Tower and Poklonnaya Hill. The images and description that accompany the locations let tourists know about the kind of things they can see while in the city. Each page also informs you of how you would say the name of the site in Russian phonetically and the table of contents provides a few key words and phrases, also with phonetic pronunciation.
